Juried student art exhibit on display at Pontiac Creative Arts Center, April 10-24
Fourteen Oakland Community College (OCC) student artists are featured in the fifth
annual juried Student Art Exhibit at the Pontiac Creative Arts Center. On display
through April 24, the exhibition features a diverse range of media, including drawing,
painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics and design.
Organized by OCC Art Faculty member Lindsey Dezman, the multidisciplinary exhibit
showcases impressive work created by students in OCC art classes within the past year.
Pieces were submitted by students and selected through a competitive jury process.
"Prepare to be inspired at OCC’s Fifth Annual Student Art Exhibition in Pontiac,”
said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano, Jr. “Our students, faculty and staff in art,
music and theatre are incredibly talented—they and our community really benefit from
shows like this one.”
“The artists in this show continue to shine a light on the remarkable talent and creativity
that thrives in our community,” he said. He also extended his gratitude to Lindsey
Dezman and the talented OCC art faculty and staff who work tirelessly to teach, nurture,
and provide opportunities for students and the community.
