Students Transferring to OCC
Oakland Community College welcomes transfer students from other institutions of higher education and always tries to award direct equivalent credit. When direct equivalencies are not available, elective credit is usually awarded.
Apply to OCCTours and EventsNet Price CalculatorThe following steps will guide you through the process of transferring to OCC.

Complete our free, online application. You will receive a confirmation email from our Admissions team when your application is received and another one when it is processed. Please allow two (2) business days for processing.
Note: After submitting your application, refresh your Admission Profile. You will see a tab called Supplemental Items & Documents. This area will allow you to upload optional and/or required documents, such as transcripts or SAT/ACT scores.

MyOCC is where you will access your student email account, complete pre-registration steps, register for classes, find payment information, and more.
After your application is processed, you will receive two emails with the information needed to set up your MyOCC account. First, admissions will email your OCC Student ID number and the link to find your username. Then, Online Services will email your Temporary Password.
Step 3: Submit Official Transcripts
Official transcripts from U.S. or Canadian institutions must be sent from your previous accredited university or college to OCC.
Your previous institution can:
- Email official transcripts to transcripts@oaklandcc.edu.
- Mail them to Oakland Community College, Transcript Evaluations, 2900 Featherstone Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326-2845
- Send them electronically through Parchment.com, National Student Clearinghouse or another accepted transfer delivery system. Please remember to put Oakland Community College as the recipient.
After your transcript has been evaluated, notification will be sent to your OCC email. You may log into your student account to review the results of your transcript evaluation.
International transcripts (excluding those from Canadian institutions) must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) before OCC can consider international credits for transfer.

You must complete the online New Student Orientation before you register for classes. To access orientation, log into MyOCC and select New Student Orientation under Pre-Registration Steps.
The Online Learning Readiness Course is required before you can register for online or hybrid classes. Log into MyOCC and select Online Learning Readiness Course (DIST 1000) under Pre-Registration Steps.

OCC encourages you to complete the FAFSA (if you are eligible) to determine your eligibility for scholarship, grant and loan programs through the Federal government and State of Michigan. Once completed, the status of your application and award letter can be found in MyOCC under Financial Aid.
You may be exempt from taking English, ESL and Math Placement if you meet the exemption guidelines.

Meeting with an OCC counselor before you register is highly encouraged for transfer students, but not mandatory. Counselors can review transcripts, help you choose your program, and assist with course selection to ensure progress toward certificate or degree completion.
Please complete your admission application, set up your MyOCC account, New Student Orientation, and placement before your meeting. Add: To schedule an appointment, go to “Make a Counseling Appointment” in MyOCC, or call us at (248) 341-2270

Log into your MyOCC account and select Student Planning. Then select Plan your Degree & Register for Classes to search for classes and add them to your plan. After classes have been added to your plan, you can register for them.

If you are using your financial aid award, funds will be applied directly to your student account. You can review your award, check your balance and make payments in the MyOCC Finance and Financial Aid sections.
You can pay any balance you owe via:
