Capture Commencement Memories

May 17 is a day of celebration for OCC students gaining their degrees and certificates. From getting ready, to walking the stage and accepting your degree, to celebrating with your family - it’s a day you capture. You’re already going to be posting, so why not share your content with OCC?

As a 2025 Commencement Ambassador, you’ll tag OCC in your Instagram stories on Commencement Day and create a reel or TikTok sharing your experience.

Why Become a Commencement Ambassador?

Graduates who successfully apply and fulfill the requirements will receive:

• FREE graduation photo package - includes a professional graduation photo and prints
• Content creation experience and opportunity to be seen by a larger audience
• Showing off your accomplishments - you’ve earned it!

Commencement from Your Point of View

Here are just some examples of the type of content you can share with us, in an Instagram reel or stories:

• Get ready with me for commencement
• Decorating your graduation cap
• Lip sync or dance to a trending sound in your cap and gown
• Take clips throughout the day and compile them into one video
• Shoutout to a professor or influential person – and why! How did they change your OCC journey/your career goals?
  • Bonus points to involve the person in the video!
• Introduce yourself and say “my name is __ I’m graduating today from OCC with a degree in ____”
• Cap throwing
• Turning your tassel
• Capturing overall excitement
• Selfies with friends in cap and gown
• Moments with family – like celebrating after commencement
• Talk about barriers you’ve overcome to achieve this degree – what does it mean to you?
• Share your favorite OCC memory
• Any ideas you have - this is your day!

Requirements

• Must have an active Instagram account
• Follow @occollege on Instagram
• Private accounts must allow OCC to follow for the duration of Commencement
• Tag @occollege in all Instagram posts and stories
• Keep post captions clean and focused on OCC’s Commencement Day and your achievements
• Any sounds used in reels should be appropriate and non-copyrighted
• Use hashtag #occgrad2025 in your posts

• Degree you’re receiving

• Phone number (we’ll need to communicate via text throughout the day)
