Photographic Technology Concentration
In an ever-more visual and digital job market, a picture today is likely worth a lot more than 1,000 words. Oakland Community College can help you add value to images by sharpening your critical eye and visual skills, through an associate in arts degree with a concentration in photo technology.
OCC courses provide professional and technical experience in still black and white, color and digital photography. The emphasis is on developing the skills for employment as a photographer, photographic assistant, digital re-toucher/archivist or lab technician in business, industry, advertising, journalism, medical institutions, studios and schools. Graduates also will be prepared to start their own businesses as self-employed professional photographers or retailers.

Eligibility Information
Photography courses are offered at the Orchard Ridge and Royal Oak Campus.
Prospective students must meet standard OCC eligibility requirements - there is an open admissions policy and placement tests and new student orientation are required in most cases. Students should meet with an OCC counselor before attempting this plan of study.
